Netflix’s ‘disenchantment’ Cast Struggling For Season 5 News

Disenchantment is an American adult animated sitcom television series. The series was created by Matt Groening who is known for “Futurama” and “The Simpsons”. This show follows the misadventures of hard-drinking princess Bean, her elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Set in the fictional medieval kingdom of Dreamland, the show follows Bean and her friends as she attempts to find her place in life and resist the forces of evil that threaten her family, her kingdom, and her friendship. Employing the same irreverent satire, absurdist humor, and pop culture references as Groening’s previous series, Disenchantment is the story of an alcoholic princess, an elf, and a demon as they explore life in the kingdom of Dreamland. After months of anticipation, Netflix finally announced on May 16th that we’ll be getting one more outing with “Disenchantment” and with season 5 currently in pre-production, we can’t begin to anticipate how Bean and her unlikely entourage of misfit friends will fare against the forces of evil.

What We Know About the Plot

Revenging the Loss of Zøg

The ending of season 4 left us with a big cliff hanger that saw the deaths of both King Zøg and Bean’s mother, Queen Oona. As is the way of the world, evil always prevails and puts a wrench into the plans of our favorite protagonists.  To start off season 5, we will likely see Bean attempting to gain vengeance for her father, as well as revive him from his non-existent state. The ramifications of these decisions will most likely send shockwaves throughout Dreamland and potentially the rest of the series.

Elfo’s Return

The final episode of season 4 saw Elfo leave Dreamland with Queen Dagmar, although we can assume Elfo’s journey will eventually lead back to Dreamland. Elfo’s presence in the kingdom is sure to put a spanner in the works of the demons and their plans of destruction.

The Demon Lord

During the course of season 4, it was revealed that Bean’s friend Luci may in fact actually be a demon, in the form of Luci, rather than actually being Bean’s friend. Season 5 may see some form of confrontation with Luci’s own demon lord and what havoc this may bring to Dreamland. Not to mention Bean’s relationship with Luci and if their friendship will eventually be restored.

The Magic Vortex

Throughout the finale of season 4, a mysterious draw to a unknown crystal mountain was felt for no apparent reason. The mountain holds a strange blue force, that may be connected to the mysterious drug Etheria that was found earlier on in the season. Season 5 may reveal more of its secrets and what it has in store for the kingdom of Dreamland.

Production

With a filming start on February 18th 2021, the new season is sure to bring the same hilarious adventures that we’ve come to love from the series. The production team will likely remain the same, with Matt Groening as the series’ creator and executive producer, Josh Weinstein, Eric Horsted and Matt Marshall in producing roles similar to season 4. Likewise, the previous writers for season 4 are also expected to return for season 5.

Conclusion

With many unanswered questions, season 5 of Disenchantment is sure to answer some of these and hopefully bring to an end some of the bonds the many stories of Disenchantment have given us over the years. We can’t wait to see what Matt Groening and the team have in store for us next.
